About the Role

The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for contributing to cloud products and system design, working with engineering teams to solve complex problems, lead innovative projects, and evangelize cloud engineering excellence across the organization. In this role, you will bring experience in one or more cloud-related engineering fields and actively work to mature cloud engineering practices across the company. Technology Tools

Your Role Responsibilities — Here's What You'll Do

  • Write code to solve complex problems; complete logic, algorithms, and system design in alignment with established standards; partner with teams from across the organization to solve complex software problems in the cloud.
  • Design and drive the implementation of continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to cloud environments with a focus on quality, security, and automation.
  • Identify and participate in new cloud technology research, proof of concepts (POCs), and innovation efforts across the department; participate in the adoption of new cloud technologies and operations processes.
  • Establish engineering standards, procedures, and best practices related to operational efficiency, security, performance, reliability, deliverability, quality, and cost optimization; define and document best practices regarding application deployment and operational procedures.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex production issues, code issues, and low-level customer requests for assistance (RFAs); promote and lead team-level initiatives.
  • Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to other team members; may provide feedback to leadership on technical abilities of the team.

Role Essentials — What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 5+ years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or a related technical engineering field, and demonstrated experience in at least one cloud-related engineering field.
  • Experience building and delivering enterprise applications, supporting cloud software in production used by customers, and working with one or more public cloud providers.
  • Experience implementing and working with CI/CD pipelines and related systems, with experience in infrastructure as code deployments and demonstrated knowledge of cloud-native design principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience building systems that meet stringent quality, security, and compliance standards, with general knowledge of general-purpose programming languages.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with executive presence, strong collaboration and critical thinking skills, and up to 10% travel time required.

  • Sharp, fast learner with technology curiosity and a proven track record of continuous improvement, with demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
